So you plant a small bamboo screen and think it looks nice, which it does, for a while. If you leave bamboo alone for too long it can cover large areas of your garden quickly and unless you own a Panda it's challenging to remove without a mini-digger. Bamboo spreads with rhizomes that grow underground in all directions then re-root themselves and pop up in the middle of your lawn... then your neighbour's lawn... and eventually everyone else's lawn... they continue to spread.

So remember the saying "Whatever you do... don't plant bamboo" ...  chant it daily.
